Vijayawada: ECI appointed Harish Gupta as New DGP of Andhra Pradesh on Monday. Harish Gupta is working as Principal Secretary in Home Department in AP. He assumed his office on Monday from incharge DGP Shankabratha Bagchi.

He is the 1992 IPS batch officer. His predecessor K Rajendranath Reddy was removed as DGP by ECI on Sunday due to the opposition parties complained to ECI.
