UU Lalith sworn-in- as 49th CJI

New Delhi: Justice UU Lalith sworn-in-as 49th Chief Justice of India on Saturday at Rashtrapathi Bhavan. President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath with Justice UU Lalith as CJI in the ceremony held at Rashtrapathi Bhavan.

She conveyed best wishes to CJI Justice UU Lalith after signing in the register.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice-President Dhankhar, former President Ramnath Kovind, former Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu, former CJI NV Ramana and others attended the ceremony.

Justice UU Lalith will act as CJI only for 74 days. He took blessings from his father former Chief Justice of Bombay High Court UR Lalith. He will retire as CJI on November 8th, 2022.
