Vijayawada: YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced that YSRCP would firmly stick to its Machilipatnam-Vijayawada-Guntur (MAVIGUN) corridor proposal for upcoming assembly elections.

He declared that the next Assembly elections would be a straight referendum on MAVIGUN versus Amaravati. He asserted that the coastal corridor model is a fitting alternative to the Amaravati project. He said the MAVIGUN proposal has natural advantages and ready-made infrastructure. YS Jagan said that we will see how much support the public gives us.

He said the proposal would be officially incorporated into the party’s election campaign and manifesto. He further alleged that thousands of acres were being acquired to benefit Naidu’s close associates at the expense of local farmers.
