Vijayawada: The YSRCP staged State-wide protest against the hike petrol and diesel prices in AP higher than the other States in the country. The petrol rate is high Rs. 113/ litre and diesel is Rs. 100/ liter.

Whether the rates compared with the neighbouring States like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Odisha is less than Rs. 5 to 10/ litre apart from Andhra Pradesh.

The YSRCP leaders and cadre participated a large crowd in protest and staged by pulling autos with ropes and putting the autos and other vehicles on bullock carts throughout the State. The YSRCP constituency in-charges, Mandal in-charges and other key leaders participated in the protest along with the public and submitted memorandums to the Collectors, RDOs and MROs with their respective home towns. The Government hiked Rs. 0.90 paisa on diesel and petrol on Monday night.
