Pulivendula: Police & TDP activists captured the polling booths and committed rigging of votes by preventing voters from casting their votes in ZPTC bye-elections in Pulivendula and Ontimitta mandals on Tuesday.
In Pulivendula ZPTC there are 15 polling booths are captured by the TDP outside gundas at the early morning 4 am onwards. Nearly 300 to 500 outsiders of the TDP party gundas entered and surrounded the polling booths with having sticks, rods and other weapons threatening the voters and polling agents of the YSRCP.
In many polling booths they didn’t allow the voters to cast their votes and snatched their voter slips and drove away them from the polling booths. If any voter asked them to cast their vote they behave rudely on woman voters and manhandled them. If you leave this place without casting your vote you will be safe, otherwise you will face dire consequences, the goons of TDP threatened them.
The police who are on duty are supporting and helping the TDP gundas at the polling booths. In some places police are not allowing the voters who are branded as YSRCP supporters. Police also put barricades outside the villages and on the roads leading towards polling booths.
Voters argued with the police in Kothapally village, Achavelli village, Thummaluru and in all villages where ZPTC bye-elections are conducted. Two YSRCP woman polling agents in village highly argued with the police why we are not allowed inside the polling booths. Why now the police came to invite us after six hours of the polling. The police tried to convenience them and runway from the place without answering them.
TDP gundas beaten one of the YSRCP polling agent in a polling booth and the police stood there as a mere spectator in Ontimitta ZPTC polling booth. Some YSRCP leaders were house arrested by the police before the start of the elections in the early morning.
DIG Koya Praveen reached the MP YS Avinash Reddy’s camp office in Pulivendula in the afternoon with Kadapa SP, Addl. SP and DSP. The DIG sit infront of YS Avinash Reddy and locked the camp office main gate and not allowed the persons who are in camp office and not allowed the YSRCP activists and supporters who are outside the camp office main gate.
The YSRCP woman supporters and others argued with the police who are you to stop us from entering our party office. Due to heated arguments DSP Murali Nayak threatened the public “I will shoot you Na Kodaka, here is uniform”.
In Ontimitta ZPTC segment, an angry woman argued with the police allowing the Minister Ramprasad Reddy and his goons into the polling booth, where Minister’s goons beaten the YSRCP agent brutally. She scolded Minister and showing the footwear of her infront of the police and said that “I will beat the bastard”.
