Governor Invited BJP to Form Government in Maharashtra
Mumbai: Maharashtra Governor Bhagath Singh Koshiyari invited the single largest party in the assembly, the BJLP leader Fadnavis to form the government on Saturday evening. The governor asked the BJLP leader of the single largest party to convey his willingness and ability to form the government. Governor asked the BJP to prove its majority in the assembly on 11th.
Though BJP is a single largest party in the Maharashtra Assembly with 105 seats out of 288. The magic figure for formation of government is 145 so BJP is needed 40 MLAs to form a government. If the independents and the small parties altogether 29. The magic figure will not reach because 105+29=134. So it is not possible to form a government.
The BJP’s ally Siva Sena won 56 seats and stood as a single largest party. Siva Sena wants sharing the government with BJP 50:50along with the Chief Minister’s Post, but BJP denied for the proposal. That’s why a political tussle prevailed since 15 days. NCP offers Siva Sena to support them in formation of government.
Siva Sena MLAs were shifted to a resort upto the formation of a government. Congress shifted its MLAs to Jaipur.
