Chennai: DMK Chief, former CM MK Stalin urged the Governor to initiate the process of forming a new Government in Tamil Nadu. In a letter to Governor, Stalin on Friday suggested the Governor to form the new Government with newly elected MLAs with immediate effect.

The old assembly has been dissolved, to convene the new assembly with the newly elected MLAs of respective political parties without delay. In his letter he said that the results of the Tamil Nadu assembly elections have been declared. The Election Commission has officially released the list of elected MLAs. In addition, the Honorable Governor has already issued orders dissolving the old assembly.

In these circumstances, it is imperative to form a new government to take the oath of office of the elected MLAs to take forward the welfare of the state. This is not just the need of the hour, but an important duty in democracy, he said in his statement. He requests the Governor to immediately take necessary steps to form a new Government as per the Constitution, without any delay.
