AP Government takes over 58 private hospitals for Covid- 19

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Government has taken over 58 private hospitals in the state as part of the measures to contain Covid- 19 spread. Its administrative control over private hospitals in 13 districts of the state, the Government has made 19, 144 beds available.

After the total number of beds 17, 111 are non- ICU beds, 1, 286 are ICU beds and 717 are isolation beds. In a press note the AP Government said on Wednesday, additionally alternative facilities with a capacity of 530 beds have also been setup. The Nodal officer, Girija Shanker said that overseeing the availability of the beds, ventilators, ICUs and technical personal. A lot of private institutions responded to the Chief Minister’s call to get involved in the fight against Covid- 19, he said.

We have taken over 50 private hospital with a capacity of over 19, 000 beds. Production of ventilators, testing kits and other equipments which have already started in Vishakhapatnam will further embolden the system in the state and help the frontline warriors cope with the pressure. A order for three lakhs rapid testing kits as already been placed by the Government, said Nodal officer.
