EC’s Decision is not Impartial: YS Jagan

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed anger on the state election commissioner’s decision to postpone the local body elections, which are under process for six weeks.

He speaking in a press conference at his camp office in Thadepalli on Sunday, Jagan said that he complained to the governor Biswabushan Harichandan on the postponement of local body elections and the unilatary decision of the election commissioner without a consultation of concerned officials i.e., Chief Secretary or Health Secretary of the government.

YS Jagan expressed his anger on the state election commissioner N. Ramesh Kumar alleged that his discretionary decision to postpone the local body election is not correct and it is a loss of Rs. 5000 crores funds belongs to the state on the recommendations of 14 finance commission. He issued a four pages notification on the postponement of local body elections is under the pressure of the TDP Supremo Chandra Babu Naidu, which causing YSRC candidates 2000 MPTC’s and 125 ZPTC’s elected unanimously, he said. he is favoured Chandra Babu, he was appointed by Chandra Babu and also he belongs to the same caste, he alleged.

Some persons are saying discretary powers, who Knows the discretary powers which they have, he said. The election commissioner did not act as an impartially he said. He also orders the officials not to distribute the house sites pattas to the poor people, the government which was scheduled on March 25th, the decision was taken a long back before the election schedule, he added.

He also transfers Chittor and Guntur district collectors and SPs on Saturday, for small issues in the election process is not correct. Who gave him the powers to order the officers not implement the government schemes and also the transfers of the SPs and collectors, he questioned. He also said that he is waiting for the change of election commissioner’s attitude on the postponement of local body elections.

If he won’t change his decision, we will go to the higher levels for justice and redressal. In local body elections the state police did their duties very well, only 47 violent incidents occurred at the time of nominations, it is a very low violent incident when compared in the past local body elections in the state.
