Boris Johnson’s landslide victory: won 365 seats in Britain Parliament

London: Conservative Party retained power once again, in the elections held recently in Britain under the leadership of Prime Minister Boris Johnson. The Britain’s Parliament House of Commerce has 650 members.

   The magic figure to form Government is 326; the Conservative party won 365 seats. The opposition Labour Party won 202 seats, Scottish National Party won 48 seats, Liberal Democrat Party won 11 seats and others won 23 seats.

  Indian origin candidates across both the Conservative and Labour parties on Friday registered strong results in the UK general elections, with around a dozen MPs retaining their seats, alongside with some new faces. All the Indian origin MPs from the previous Parliament were successful in clinching their seats, with Gagan Mahendra and Claire Coutinho for the Conservative Party and Navendru Mishra for Labour Party among the first term elected.
