Reema is the First Saudi Women Driver to Race a Car

Diriyah: A Saudi women Reema al-Juffali is the first women participant in motor sports in the kingdom. The Saudi prince Mohammed Bin Salman lifted ban on women driving in the last year. Juffali a 20 year old women debute her motering just months after the decades old ban ended, compete in the jaguar I-PACE e TROPHY an all electric race in Diriyah, close to the capital Riyadh.

       She said that she never expected to race professionally, sitting in her black and green Jaguar I-Pace, an electric sports utility vehicle. Juffali heils from Jeddah and was educated in the US, will participate as what organizers call a VIP Guest driver, becoming the first Saudi women to race on home Soil.

     Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Turkey al-faizal, Saudi Arabia’s sports authority chief has said it is a water shed movement for the kingdom. The prince said that Reema will have thousand cheering her on, as professional racing driver. She is the only Saudi women to have obtained a racing licence in her home country.
