Jagan seeks centre’s support in Covid- 19 fight

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the centre’s support to face the challenge thrown by the Covid- 19. The AP CM during his interaction with the PM on Tuesday said that the state had initiated several measures to handle the pandemic but wanted continued support from the centre as AP is a new state.

Jagan briefed the Prime Minister about the Covid- 19 care in AP and told him that the mortality rate is comparatively low. Though cases are scaling up every day in the state, Jagan said they were equally increasing tests. He said the state has limited mortality rate to 0.89 % by increasing testing and treatment facilities. Jagan also said that we have conducted 25, 34, 304 tests of which 2.35 lakh persons were positive. We are conducting 47, 459 tests per million peoples, he said.
