MK Stalin sworn – in as 26th Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu: 33 Ministers took oath

Chennai: DMK Chief MK Stalin sworn – in as the 26th Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu at Raj Bhavan in Chennai on Friday at 9 am. Along with Stalin, another 33 Ministers also took oath. Stalin elected to Tamil Nadu Assembly as an MLA for seventh term.

Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit administered the oath with MK Stalin and other Minister at Raj Bhavan. The swearing-in ceremony, which began at 9 am, had only around 250 invitees were permitted due to existing Covid – 19 restrictions. Of the invitees, each DMK MLA is given one entry pass while the Ministers are given two passes.

Former Chief Minister O Panneerselavam, leaders from alliance parties including Congress’s P Chidambaram, MDMK chief Vaiko and top state officials took part in the ceremony. Stalin’s son Udhayanidhi and other notable members were present at the ceremony.

Stalin’s Cabinet Ministers and their portfolios are given below:-

  • M K Stalin, Chief Minister:- Public, General Administration, Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police Service, Other All India Service, District Revenue Officers, Police, Home, Special Initiatives, Special Programme Implementation, Welfare of Differently abled persons.
  • Duraimurugan: – Water Resources Irrigation Projects including small Irrigation, Legislative Assembly, Governor and Ministry, Elections and Passports, Minerals and Mines.
  • K N Nehru: – Municipal Administration, Urban and Water Supply.
  • I Periyasamy: – Co-operation, Statistics and Ex-Servicemen Welfare.
  • K Ponmudi: – Higher Education including Higher Education Technical Education, Electronics, Science and Technology.
  • E V Velu: – Public Works (Buildings, Highways and Minor Ports).
  • M R K Panneerselavam:- Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Agro Service Co-operatives, Horticulture, Sugarcane Excise, Sugarcane Development and Waste Land Development.
