‘NRC is Notebandi-2”: Rahul

National News

Guwahati: Former AICC Chief Rahul Gandhi termed CAA, NRC and NPR “Notebandi-2” and warned that they will be more disastrous than the demonetization. He launched a frontal attack on the ruling BJP and its ideological mentor, the RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, over the controversial CAA and NRC.

Rahul Gandhi in his address in “Save India” public rally in Guwahati on Saturday said that “Hum BJP aur RSS Ko Assam Ke Basha, Samskruthi-Parakraman Nahi Karne Denge. Assam Ko Nagpur Nahi Chalayega, Assam Ko RSS Ke Chaddi-Wala Nahi Chalayenge. Assam Ko Assamki Janata Chalayege. ” (We won’t allow the BJP and RSS to destroy the history, language and culture of Assam. We also won’t let Nagpur or RSS rule in Assam. Assam will be ruled by its own people). He participated in activities planned for the party’s 135th formation day in Delhi, earlier in the day. He expressed fear that the Assam might return to the path of violence due to the policies of the BJP Government at the Centre and in the State.

The spirit of Assam accord, which brought in peace, should not be touched, he said. He visited the houses of victims killed in police firing in the anti-CAA movement in Guwahati. He questioned the Government why do you have to shoot and kill them who are protesting against the CAA and NRC. He also said that the BJP doesn’t want to listen to voices of the people.
