PM Modi Launches $ 4.2 Million Project at 200 year old Lord Krishna Temple

Manama, Bahrain: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the redevelopment project of the 200 year old Lord Sree Krishna Temple on Sunday in the Bahrain capital, with an expenditure of USD $ 4.2 million. He is the first Prime Minister to visit the key Gulf Nation; he offered prayers in the Srinath Ji Temple in Manama.

       It is the oldest temple in the region and also the “Prasad” that he brought with the rupay card after launching it in the UAE on Saturday. Modi later unveiled the plaque, officially launching the redevelopment project of the Iconic temple. The temple reflects the pluralism of Bahrani society, said external affairs ministry spoke person Raveesh Kumar in a tweet.

      The redevelopment project will be on a piece of land an extent of 16,500 sqfts and the new four floor structure covering 45,000 sqfts with have an overall heights 30 mts. The new Iconic complex will construct the Sanctum, Sanctorium and Prayer hall. There are also facilities for traditional Hindu Marriage ceremonies and other rituals, promoting Bahrain as a wedding destination and boosting tourism.
