People celebrates MAKARA SANKRANTI with a joy

Hyderabad: People of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka are celebrating the festival MAKARA SANKRANTI in a grand traditional and customs. The festival MAKARA SANKRANTI is a big festival in these states, it celebrates by all communities without caste, creed and religious.

People who took the DIKSHA OF AYYAPPA MALA will conclude finally on the day of MAKARA SANKRANTI by seeing the MAKARA JYOTHI at KARIMALA. It is high religious performance to perform diksha of AYYAPPA in South India. Lakhs of people will offer poojas to LORD AYYAPPA every year by taking DEEKSHAS.

People offers poojas to “God Sun” on the auspicious festival MAKARA SANKRANTI for three days i.e., first day BHOGI, second day MAKARA SANKRANTI, and third day KANUMA. This festival mainly called as the Farmers festival. After getting the harvested crops, farmers’ families with great joy celebrates this festival in each and every village with all artisans who are involved in cultivation.

The farmer decorates the bulls, buffaloes, cows and other animals which are helpful in agriculture. Farmers also perform poojas to cows and bulls. It also called as a festival of animals. This festival is based on celestial move God Sun, he enters Scorpio from Libra that is called MAKARA SANKRANTI. People will conduct competitions like cock fights, bull fights, dragging of stones by bulls and many cultural activities in these three days.

In Tamil Nadu State this festival is called as PONGAL.  They conduct Jallikattu competition every year on PONGAL festival.
