Police stopped CAA protest March: some JMU students detained

New Delhi: The Delhi police stopped the protest March against CAA and NRC proceeding towards Parliament Bhavan on Monday. The protesters included students of Jamia Islamia and local from surrounding areas started protest March from Jamia Millia Islamia University.

The police stopped the protesters after reaching 2 Kms from their departure place, the protesters shouting slogans “Kagaz nahin dikhayenge”. The police stopped the protesters saying no permissions to protest March to Parliament. The protesters tried to cross the barricades, when the police put barricades not to go them further. The police detained some protesters during the March. Along with Shaheen Bagh, the Jamia University has also been witnessing protests since the citizenship law was passed in December.
