Yadadri Temple doors and dooms will be gold plated: CM KCR

Yadadri: The temple dome (Rajagopuram) and the main doors of Sri Lakshmi Narashima Swamy temple in Yadadri will be coated with gold, said Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandra Sekhar Rao on Sunday. CM KCR visited the Yadadri temple on Sunday.

Chief Minister K. Chandra Sekhar Rao is personally monitoring the temple project, where he spent over six hours of inspection on the ongoing work and offered special poojas. Speaking to the media persons CM KCR said that specialist goldsmith from Pembarthy in Jangaon will carry out the 60 Kg gold plating project, estimated cost Rs. 50 crores. The overall cost of temple and temple-town project, including its development as a major religious- tourist destination is estimated to be about Rs. 1200 crores.

CM KCR instructed Principal Secretary (Finance) Ramakrishna Rao over phone to release in next three weeks Rs. 75 crores for the temple. Yadadri temple is famous for Satyanarayana Vratham, KCR directed the officials to make provision and facilities in the temple for 4K people to perform it at one go. Specialist goldsmiths from Pembarthy should be engaged to provide gold cover to the temple and the main gates, KCR suggested.

Over 2000 acres have been allotted for the Yadadri temple project to turn Yadadri into a major religious cum tourist destination in Telangana. CM KCR said work should not be taken up in haste and the temple should reflect and epitomize beauty and spirituality, adding that all the Agama Sastra guidelines and traditions should be followed strictly. Expert architects will work on beautification of Gandipet tank and its periphery as a tourist spot, he added. The temple ring road would be developed like a necklace with provisions for walking and cycling tracks, greenery and illumination, CM KCR said.

TSRTC officials would provide free bus service to devotees from the bus stand to the temple, he added. The parking lots will have provision to park 5K cars and 10K two-wheelers. The tank adjacent to the temple complex would be filled up every two months by drawing water from Kaleshwaram project, he said.
