YSRCP retains Badvel with majority of over 90,000 votes

Kadapa: YSRCP candidate Dr Dasari Sudha won in Badvel Assembly constituency bye elections with a margin of 90, 533 votes against the rival candidates BJP and Congress. Dr Sudha got 1, 21, 211 votes and the BJP candidate Panathala Suresh got 21, 678 votes and Congress candidate PM Kamalamma got 6, 235 votes.

BJP and Congress candidates forfeited their deposits along with other 12 contested candidates in the Badvel bye elections. The YSRCP candidate Dr Sudha took the lead from the very first round and increased it as the counting progressed. After eight rounds, her victory was only a formality.

According to Election Commission officials, the counting was completed in 13 rounds. Out of the total 2, 16,139 voters, 1, 47,163 had cast their votes in the bye election held on October 30th.
Sudha is the wife of G Venkata Subbaiah whose death caused the bye election in the constituency in Kadapa district, the home district of Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. In 2019, Venkata Subbaiah of the YSRCP had defeated his nearest rival Obulapuram Rajasekhar of the TDP with a margin of 44,734 votes.

After winning the Badvel bye poll with a huge majority YSRCP candidate Dr Sudha thanked the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and voters for electing her with a massive majority and vowed to work for the development of the constituency. She expressed thanks to the YSRCP leaders, Panchayat Raj Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, constituency elections incharge Minister A Suresh, Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy, Kadapa Parliamentary party incharge Suresh and other MLAs, MPs and MLCs who worked hard her win in Badvel bye elections. She described the outcome of the bye poll as the people’s support to the YSRCP government for its welfare schemes and social justice.
