India recorded 22K Covid- 19 positive cases in a single day

New Delhi: The Covid- 19 cases spreading speedily in the country, the Covid- 19 new cases recorded 22K on Thursday; it is a biggest surge in a single day. Covid- 19 deaths toll in India crossed the 18K mark on Thursday.

Covid- 19 cases huge rush in Maharashtra (6, 330), Tamil Nadu (4, 343), Karnataka (1, 502) and Telangana (1, 213) on Thursday. Apart from these four states Andhra Pradesh (845), Uttar Pradesh (817), Gujarat (681), West Bengal (649) and Bihar (478) registered their highest jump in infections. In Assam 408 cases added to its tally. After crossing 17K just two days ago, the death toll went past 18K with 379 fatalities recorded on Thursday.

Nearly 3K deaths have been reported in last seven days alone. India added a record 22, 045 Covid- 19 cases on Thursday taking the Country’s total case tally to 6, 27, 023 just a day after the count has crossed the six lakh mark, as per data collated from State Governments. Maharashtra recorded a single day jump 6, 330 infections, the total number of cases rose to 1, 88, 626 with active cases at 77, 260. In Maharashtra reported 125 deaths on Thursday which occurred 110 in the last 48 hours.

While 1, 554 patients in Mumbai tested positive for Covid- 19 on Thursday, three times the number of patients left the various health care facilities after recovering from the viral fever. Karnataka and Bengaluru recorded their highest ever Covid- 19 cases in a day, 1, 502 and 889 respectively. The state has till day reported 18, 016 cases and its capital 6, 179. Of the 1, 502 cases reported in the state, as many as 967 cases were neither exposed to Covid- 19 cases nor had travel history.

Delhi continued to record a drop in cases, with 2, 373 registered on Thursday, down from a high of 3, 947 reported on June 23rd. With this the tally of Covid- 19 in the capital rose to over 92K. Meanwhile Tamil Nadu moves closer to the one lakh cases milestone, with highest ever spike of 4, 343 fresh cases on Thursday. The total tally reached 98, 392 cases, the state’s hotspot, Chennai, recorded 2, 027 new cases and its adjoining districts Tiruvallur 164, Kanchipuram 112 and Changalpattu 171.
