Jagan Launched “Jagananna Amma Vodi”

Chittoor: Education is the fundamental right of every child as enshrined in the constitution said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. He launched “Jagananna Amma Vodi” at P V K N Grounds in Chittoor on Thursday, with the click of a button on a laptop provided financial assistance of Rs. 15,000/- (Rupees Fifteen Thousands) to each mother, who sents their children to the schools. This scheme will be benefited 42, 12,186 mothers across the state, that benefits 81,72,224 children.

“Jagananna Amma Vodi” scheme is a first-of-its kind scheme in the country which is aimed at both prompting literacy for all and to support indigent mothers to educate their children. YS Jagan in his address in a public meeting said that I have seen, the mothers who are suffering from poverty were unable to send their wards to schools.

That was when I decided to ensure that poverty should not be a hindrance for educating children. As a part of “Amma Vodi” scheme Rs. 15,000/- would be deposited directly into the accounts of mothers. It has been ensured that even if they have loans, this amount would not be touched and deposited in the unencumbered accounts, he said.

The CM also asked the beneficiaries to donate Rs. 1,000/- for maintenance of toilets and salaries to watchmen in schools.
